Welcome to WireTech’s Quality Department.  Our quality program is based on ISO 9002, in-fact, the quality program has been certified by DQS German American Registrar for Management Systems, Inc. since March 1998.

In addition, the laboratory is accredited by the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA certificate number 0911-01) since November 1997.  Our scope of accreditation is Mechanical and is certified to perform the following tests:

·        Tensile (room temperature)                               ASTM A 370

o       Tensile strength

o       Yield strength

o       Elongation

o       Reduction of area

·        Hardness (Rockwell B & C)                               ASTM E 18

·        Metallography

o       Preparation of samples                          ASTM E 3

o       Decarburization depth determination   ASTM E 1077; IFI 140

o       Non-metallic inclusion rating                  ASTM E 45, Method A

·        Chemical

o       Spectroscopy, optical emission            ASTM E 415

(plain carbon and low alloy steel)

In addition, we have the capability to perform visual examination of the wire surface through the use of an Olympus Stereo Microscope with a magnification power of up to 64X.  The surface profile of the wire can also be determined through the use of a Perthen Surface Analyzer (profilometer).  The following is a list of WireTech’s major testing and inspection equipment:

·        Instron – Satec Universal tester 120,000 pounds load capacity

·        United “Speedy” Tensile Tester

·        Olympus Metallograph

·        Olympus Stereo Microscope

·        ARL – Fison 2460 Optical Emission Spectrometer

·        United Hardness Tester

·        Perthen Surface Analyzer

Finally, we are committed to continuously expanding our library of technical reference material and training of our personnel.  With all of these capabilities and commitment to quality, you can be sure that WireTech’s wire will perform to your expectations.
